Little Angels Holiday Club is committed to providing a welcoming, safe and secure environment. A happy and caring atmosphere is essential and to promote this all staff are responsible, caring and conscientious.
We believe that our holiday club should be fun, relaxed, and informal.
Our wide range of play-based activities providing the children with opportunities to participate in sport and physical games, relaxation, art and crafts, reading and writing, dance, cooking, board games.
All adults working in the Holiday Club are suitable to do so. The Holiday Club is managed by Lynn Mitchell
Little Angels Holiday club is also a provider for BCP councils Holiday activities and food programme HAF. This is run for a minimum 6 weeks of the year 1or 2 weeks at Easter, 4 weeks in the summer and 1 week at Christmas.
Children on benefits related free school meals can have:
Easter a maximum of 4 days
Summer maximum of 4 days for every week
Christmas maximum of 4 days
Opening hours are 9am-3pm
For the summer weeks the children must do a minimum of 2 weeks. If a child misses a session without good reason and prior notice from a phone call off the parent/carer they will be removed from the programme.
I use a BCP Council HAF app that will tell me if your child is in receipt of benefits related free school meals. If your child is from another council you must provide a copy of the letter or email you received that states your child is entitled to benefits related free school meals, this is different to the free school meals all children get in reception and year one and two.
Aged 4-12 (must attend school)
Children who are not on benefits related free school meals are welcome with a cost of £4.50 per hour
An invoice will be emailed to you 2 weeks prior to your child’s first session, all sessions must be paid in advance or your child will be refused entry.
Aged 3-12
There are always First Aid Trained staff working at the club.
We have a public Facebook page whereby you can see the activities your child takes part in, menus and lots more information.
Children are greeted by a member of staff at the beginning of the day.
Staff sign the children in and out each day. Staff will only hand the children over to their parents/carers once they have been signed out.
All children are supervised throughout the day and during snack and lunch times.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY
The following actions will be taken to secure the physical environment and secure the safety of the pupils:
· All equipment that children use throughout the day is checked before and during their use.
· The children’s health, safety and well-being are always paramount
· Staff supervise the children when out on the playground and in the grounds and are expected to be vigilant.
· Staff/children ratios are always observed. This is 1:4 for children aged 2 1:8 for children age 3 to 8 and 1:10 for children over 9 years old.
· There are always at least two members of staff on duty.
· Children’s medical/allergies are known.
· Parents give emergency contacts and phone numbers.
· Risk Assessments are regularly undertaken.
· All staff and volunteers working with our children are carefully selected and vetted. All staff also have a DBS before working with children.
· If children are unwell, parents will be contacted. Staff have records of contact details for all parents.
· hot lunch and dessert are provided, snacks throughout the day.
· The children have access to water at all times during the Club and are encouraged to drink, as well as eat their food, if the food we provide is not suitable for your child please provide a healthy lunch box, we will want the children to try the food before their lunch box is given to them.
· Cups and jugs of water are provided. These are washed in the dishwasher at the end of each session.
Policies for Failure to Collect, Missing Child, Safeguarding etc. are all adhered to. All Staff have had regular Child Protection/Safeguarding Training.
· All staff have had Health and Safety Training.
· Staff undertake First Aid Training.
· Staff have committed to adhere to a Staff Code of Conduct.

We foster high self-esteem and self-worth amongst the children and place value on all their achievements, providing positive reinforcements and valuing each child’s uniqueness, regardless of their gender or ability.
LEARNING DIFFICULTIES AND DISABILITIES (INCLUDING SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES)
We believe that all children have individual needs. Children requiring special consideration include those who:
· have a physical or sensory need
· have a general learning difficulty
· are underachieving or more able
· have a social or emotional problem
· have a behavioural problem
· have a first language other than English
BEHAVIOUR
Little Angels has policies to deal with behaviour and bullying and the Holiday Club operates within their guidelines. We reinforce children’s positive behaviour and attitudes. With explanation we divert and remove children from unacceptable situations.
WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS AND CARERS
Little Angels will work with parents and carers:
· Parents can talk to staff at the end of the club session or make appointments to meet with staff if this is not possible. They can also communicate via email.
DOCUMENTATION
In order to register for the Holiday Club, parents complete an online form and send it to Lynn Mitchell via email to charliebear22002@yahoo.co.uk or deliver by hand on first session.
CHILD PROTECTION AND SAFEGUARDING
(Refer to Safeguarding Policy and Whistleblowing Policy) Staff in the Holiday Club share the objective of Little Angels to help keep children safe by working to:
· Provide a safe environment for children.
· Identify children who are at risk of, or likely to suffer significant harm and take appropriate action with the aim of making sure they are kept safe.
· Ensure that the welfare of the child is paramount. All staff have responsibility for child protection and safeguarding and for ensuring they are aware of procedures. The procedures are set out in Little Angels Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy. The Designated Safeguarding Leader, Lynn Mitchell should be informed of any concerns.
Privacy notice for the holiday activities and food programme
What is the holiday activities and food programme (“the programme”)?
This holiday provision is for school aged children from reception to year 11 (inclusive) who receive benefits-related free school meals. Benefits-related free school meals (FSM) are available to pupils if their parents are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits, and have a claim verified by their school or local authority.
Local authorities also have discretion to use up to 15% of their funding to provide free or subsidised holiday club places for children who are not in receipt of benefits-related free school meals but who the local authority believe could benefit from HAF provision.
Who we are
This programme is being funded through local authorities by the Department for Education (DfE). For the purpose of data protection legislation, DfE and local authorities are data controllers for the personal data processed as part of the programme when it is supplied to them.
How we will use your information
If your child has attended a HAF-funded place at a holiday club, DfE receives the personal data about your child from the organisation funded to deliver the programme and / or your local authority. The information is used to so we can better understand who is being reached by the programme and use this evidence to support local authorities reaching disadvantaged children in need of support during the holidays. We will also use the information to evaluate the success of the programme and build a case for future funding.

Holiday clubs provide the opportunity for children to develop new skills, try out new experiences, and socialise with friends. We will be carrying out nutritional education such as cooking meals and growing our own fruit and vegetables. We will be taking part in physical activities such as football and cricket and doing creative workshops/messy play activites.
